Inside Peck & Weis headquarters at 2506 Crest Drive in Lake Geneva is a bulletin board with the word “Kudos” at the top. On it, the 35-year-old heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical company posts positive comments that its technicians hear from the company’s residential and commercial customers.
Anyone who has suffered the misfortune of discovering a conked-out furnace on a cold winter night can identify with the homeowner who sent this message to the Peck & Weis staff:
“At 8:00 p.m., on a Friday night (when the temperature was five degrees below zero), the furnace stopped working. I called the 24-hour number, and Peck & Weis had a guy named John on the road in 15 minutes. He determined that the blower was shot, [but] he had a replacement on the truck and got the heat back on that evening. Many thanks for GREAT service on a very cold night.”
It’s that quick, professional response to a problem that has earned Peck & Weis the distinction of being named to the Janesville Gazette’s “Best of Walworth County” list every year since 2000.

While Peck & Weis has been in Lake Geneva for 35 years, the company likes to say that it has served the community for 60 years. Daryl Peck and Roger Weis purchased the 26-year-old Miller Heating & Cooling in 1985, thus accounting for a total of six decades of service. The company added plumbing to its repertoire in 2003, and electrical just six months later.
Although the company still bears his name, Roger Weis retired in 2007 and passed away in 2019. To his 34 employees, Daryl Peck emphasizes giving customers “the personal touch,” according to the company’s office administrator Dee Stotko. Maintaining a good relationship with employees and a high level of community involvement are also priorities.
Stotko says that Peck & Weis employees are highly conscious of safety and cleanliness while they work in customers’ homes. As for Peck, she says his ethos is summed up in a question he frequently asks himself before making a decision: “Would I feel comfortable if a company did this to me?”
Once employees have been with the company for two years, their training is subsidized, whether for local classes, plumbing and electrical apprenticeships in Wisconsin’s apprenticeship program, or out-of-state schooling.
Peck & Weis supports many local organizations, including Lighthouse Youth Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the American Legion. The company also participates in the Bryant Community Heroes Program, in which the company supplies and installs a furnace or air conditioning in the home of a local hero, nominated by fellow community members.
“This is a yearly event which we are honored to be a part of,” Stotko says.
In addition to local recognition, Peck & Weis has earned multiple awards from Bryant Heating and Cooling Systems for industry leadership in hard work, expertise, and business sense. In 2019, Peck & Weis became just the second recipient of the Charles Bryant Award, given to the Bryant Factory-authorized dealer that epitomizes the characteristics of founder Charles Bryant: professionalism, quality, reliability, and community spirit.
Because Peck & Weis installs and maintains homes’ and businesses’ crucial workings – heating, cooling, plumbing, and electricity. They live up to their motto: “More people get comfortable with us.”
