Searching for a dream home can be draining, especially when the dream includes designing and building a new home. Thanks to builders like John Giampoli, it doesn’t have to be a stressful process. His company, Omega Homes, provides an inventory of new move-in ready homes in Geneva National with the most appealing floorplans.
“I enjoy working and creating beautiful homes that my customers will enjoy for lifetimes,” says Giampoli. And he’s an expert at it, too, though he didn’t become one overnight.
It’s no surprise that Giampoli developed a passion for construction at an early age. His family roots are in Lucca, Italy, a historical city in Tuscany known for architecture. He grew up in a large Italian family on the far south side of Chicago. By the time he was eight, he was joining his father, who was a brick layer, on the job. He would also assist his uncles, who were general contractors. Learning the building trades early prompted his enthusiasm for construction. Giampoli labored between studies to receive his masonry union card before moving on to advanced studies, with which he earned an MBA and a CPA. The opportunity to merge his talents came when he joined a major Chicagoland builder as Chief Financial Officer and subsequently Chief Operating Officer for over 35 years.
When Giampoli was entering the stage of life when most people contemplate retirement, he decided to give back to the community instead, and formed the Giampoli Family Foundation. Funded by his home building activities, he plans to spend his time sharing with those in need.
Satisfying the need for move-in ready homes is an important part of Giampoli’s plan. He recognizes that not everyone has the time or energy to go through the demanding process of building a home. In March of 2017 he had four homes ready for market, and all were sold by June. This initial success confirmed that he was on to something. Most builders are averse to this type of risk, but Giampoli believes, “we are all talented and resilient people,” and has no doubts about continuing on this path.
Omega homes are perfect for today’s lifestyle. The design concepts feature ranch homes with open floorplans and finished basements. The homes can vary in size from 1,900 to 4,500 square feet, but all have the most sought-after amenities. This includes high volume ceilings, numerous windows for an abundance of natural light, and a defined separation of the master bedroom suite for privacy. Finished lower levels include leisure space and additional bedrooms for children or guests. There is a total of four signature plans developed by Giampoli, each of which has been lovingly christened with the names of his family members.
Keefe Real Estate Realtor Marjorie Krantz notes, “the various floorplans appeal to everyone in a different way. Buyers of all ages, snowbirds, and full-time residents, with and without children… [They] all find the floorplans engaging. I am proud to be associated with these high-quality homes.”
Giampoli is driven by the pleasure of meeting new people. He enjoys working closely with customers, realtors, contractors, and suppliers, in order to deliver top quality homes. His very talented right-hand man, Josh Guse, guides the production process and maintains close relationships with Omega’s highly satisfied buyers. A professional designer is on hand to coordinate all of the selections so these new homes will reflect a distinctive style for each homeowner.
The success of Omega Homes has confirmed Giampoli’s belief about the demand for homes that are ready to occupy. He intends to have Geneva National homes available at various stages of construction to meet home buyer needs. Future plans for Giampoli include continuing to build in Geneva National, while simultaneously expanding the development of other properties in and around the Lake Geneva area.
