Gage Marine & Lake Geneva Cruise Line
Best Cruise
Gage Marine offers multiple ways to enjoy the waters of Geneva Lake. With two additional businesses under their umbrella – Lake Geneva Cruise Line and Pier 290, this company supports a variety of lake related opportunities.
Gage Marine can assist if you are looking to purchase a boat, as well as help service existing boats in addition to finding winter storage options.
Pier 290, the area’s only on-water restaurant providing an upscale, casual American menu. Guests can enjoy their meal or drinks while taking in unobstructed views of the lake. The venue also provides live music and accommodates private parties ranging from 25 to 300 people.
The Lake Geneva Cruise Line, owned by Gage Marine since 1958, provides visitors opportunities to view Geneva Lake. The fleet, which runs from mid-April until the end of October, includes eight boats, taking passengers out from the Riviera Docks in Lake Geneva for tours, food cruises as well as private parties.
The fleet includes the iconic Lady of the Lake, which is the most familiar to residents and visitors alike. A white, two-level replica of a stern paddlewheeler with navy blue and red trim, is the largest vessel, holding up to 225 people for one-hour tours of half the lake. The Walworth garners attention, as up to 110 riders watch a jumper leap off the still-moving boat onto the dock, deliver the mail in the mailbox and jump back onto the boat.
To get a glimpse inside at one of the lake’s mansions, the Geneva takes up to 50 visitors to Black Point Estate to enjoy a tour of the home and gardens before riding back to town. The Grand Belle and its two levels can seat 156 passengers for just about any occasion, including its Thursday night supper club cruise as well as on the Fourth of July to watch the fireworks.
Rounding out the fleet include the Duchess, a smaller version of the Lady of the Lake, which carries up to 80 people for two-hour cocktail cruises once a week in addition to the Steam Yacht Louise, which can hold up to 50 people while enjoying the boat’s vintage steam engine. On the Lorelai, passengers get the experience of sailing on a private yacht. Finally, the Polaris holds up to 40 people with its canopy-covered deck for private parties.
